Pensacola Beach Pier from the Casino Boardwalk, about 1940
Boxing matches were very popular at the Fishing Pier.
The sign above the pier entrance advertises Spearman Straight Eight Ale brewed in Pensacola

Much of the mahogany inside was from the Weiss-Fricker mill located at Bayou Chico.
Several area establishments contain some of the original wood.

The Sun Ray Taco Shop, 20 Via De Luna Drive, part of the old Sun Ray Motel and Cottages,
was a big part of life on Pensacola Beach for me personally.
We changed over from the Sun Ray Oyster Shop, which opened in 1979, to the Taco Shop in 1988.
We moved to the Boardwalk in 1992 and closed in June of 2000.
