Pensacola

The men are working over the hill, taking down by hand an old barn
that has become dangerous.
The women are waiting for them to come and eat supper.
The men are late.
They can't be reached by phone and the road has been washed out in the spring thaws.

There's a full moon. The owls seem agitated.
As the women wait, stories, gossip, laughter abound.
